James Malmstrom is co-founder of Eclipse Product Development, Inc., a contract engineering firm specializing in product design and development. With clients ranging from small startups to multi-million dollar corporations to budding entrepreneurs with an idea, Eclipse has been intimately involved in a variety of successful product launches. Services include determining the feasibility of an idea, prototype development, design for manufacturability, and even small pilot production assembly.
James has been awarded 14 US patents with several more in the application process. He was also co-recipient of a national 2005 Medical Design Excellence Award. He received a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Brigham Young University, and a MS in Bioengineering from the University of Utah. He is currently a PhD candidate enrolled in the Constitutional Law program at George Wythe College.
His favorite past-time is trekking in the mountains, having ventured as far away as Africa's Kilimanjaro, Peru's Machu Picchu, and several peaks throughout the Mountain West. He and his wife, Stephanie, currently reside in Kaysville, Utah. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Lauralyn and Sara, and son, Bradley.
