Michael Hansen began his public sector career as a Long Range Planner for Salt Lake County. There he focused on community master planning, ordinance revision, and open space / trail planning. He was also the principal Demographer and Housing Planner for the County.
In 1999, Mr. Hansen began his work with the Utah Transit Authority. There he served as a Strategic Planner, conducting policy analysis, long range planning, and coordination of transit and community land-use issues. He also served as Project Manager for a number of capital facility projects.
Michael currently serves as Director of Strategy and Management in the Utah Governor's Office.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning from the University of Utah, and went on to complete his Masters in Public Administration in 2001. He earned his American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) credential the following year. He is currently a PhD candidate at George Wythe College in Cedar City.
Michael is married to the former Katie Felsted. Together they mentor five unbelievable children.
