Dr. Patras Bukhari holds a Masters degree in Education and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, both from BYU. He has a diverse background which includes enrollment at the Catholic Theological Seminary in the prestigious Notre Dame Institute of Education in Karachi, intending to become a priest. While there Bukhari joined the Congregation of the Jesuits who focused on promoting literacy among Christians in Pakistan.  For three years he taught in Jesuit schools in the mornings and attended classes in the afternoons. 

Dr. Bukari has done extensive translation of English books and documents into his native language of Urdu. He and his wife Shanaz and their 5 children live in Provo, Utah.
