Shawn Crane is a homeschooling mother of 3 who was introduced to Thomas Jefferson Education and George Wythe University in 1999 and began incorporating the 7 Keys of Great Teaching into her family’s education and her community.
Shawn is the founder and director of Crane Academy of Excellence, a private school providing enrollment for homeschooling families to meet legal requirements in California. She is also the founder and director of Youth Leadership Project, which offers classes and activities for homeschooling students taught by mentors using TJEd principles. She is trained by the Leadership Education Mentors Institute (L.E.M.I.) and is President of L.E.M.I’s Mentors Association. Mrs. Crane is the director of the Village Tree Learning Center, a “mom school” which provides monthly learning activities for homeschooling families. She is also the founder and mentor of a colloquium group for adults completing George Wythe University’s 5 Pillar Program and is currently working on her own 5 Pillar Certification.
Shawn and her husband, Andy, reside with their three children in West Hills, California. Her hobbies seem to include starting and managing groups. She also enjoys reading, studying, traveling, camping, and hiking with her family and attending TJEd seminars. She also dabbles in knitting, crocheting, homeopathy, nutrition, and essential oils. Shawn enjoys the occasional great movie, dinner out, and high tea with friends.
