HB101A: BEGINNING HEBREW I
1-2 Credits

Dr. DeMille has said that Hebrew is the “Language of Liberty.” Benjamin Franklin even proposed that Hebrew be America's national language. The founders saw a major connection between Hebrew and Freedom, yet today this connection has been lost. In this course, students will learn the basic skills necessary to read and comprehend Hebrew while also getting a taste of Hebrew culture and philosophy. In the process, students will also be introduced to some of the earliest writings on liberty and freedom. Hebrew is an excellent supplement to enrich your study of Statesmanship.

There is a $10 materials fee for this course due upon Registration.

TEXTS:

Steinsaltz, The Thirteen Petalled Rose

Zohar (translated by Daniel C. Matt)

Mansoor, Biblical Hebrew

“To build men and women of virtue, wisdom, diplomacy, and courage
who inspire greatness in others and move the cause of liberty.”
