Seminar Registrations Officer
George Wythe College is seeking to fill the position of Seminar Registrations Officer. This is a part-time position (25 hours per week) ideal for an on-campus student desiring to cover his or her tuition costs. The responsibilities of this position consist of:

  • Oversee the registration process for all non-academic seminars and events (YFA, Statesman Retreats, summer seminars, etc.)
  • Create registration materials and train office staff on their use
  • Process seminar\event fee payments
  • Oversee the automation of registration processes (confirmation letters, receipts, reading materials to be sent upon registration)
  • Process occasional orders for reading packets and other materials ordered for an event
  • Create name tags and perform “check-in” duties at seminars and events

The ideal candidate will be able to meet the following minimum standards:

  • Office administration and\or customer support experience
  • Excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications (Word, Excel, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Experience with HTML a plus
  • A “Raving Fans” mentality
  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized, systems and detail-oriented, and able to work well with faculty and staff
  • An intrapreneurial mindset, taking ownership of your department to find new and innovative ways to make the office run more effectively.
  • Familiarity with the principles of Thomas Jefferson Education. Completion of some coursework in a George Wythe College on- or off-campus degree program preferred.

Compensation consists of on-campus Fall 2008 tuition-trade for the staff member, his\her spouse or his\her dependant child. This position will initially report to the Vice President of Administration, but will eventually report to the Registrar.
