Preparing for a Lifetime of
Statesmanship
Your education at George Wythe College will include a broad mixture of class-work, simulations and practicum, mentor interviews, writing, public speaking, and independent study. Students are also encouraged to participate in the many off-campus social, cultural and service opportunities available in the community. Built upon the Five Pillars of Statesmanship, the experience is designed to be rigorous as well as rewarding and calculated to prepare you for the challenges of statesmanship - to teach you, not what to think, but how to think - to become a Thomas Jefferson for our time.
Central to your George Wythe College education is a heavy emphasis on simulations and real-world experience. The true test of leadership comes in the hour of crisis. Students will experience 20-30 such simulated events before graduation including mock congresses, moot courts, model U.N. crises, business negotiations and historical, current, and future scenarios where they must work together to find solutions to difficult problems.
Through government, corporate and organization internships, as well as other avenues, students also participate in real-world problem solving where they may put their classical education to work and gain exposure to divergent cultures, viewpoints, and values.
